Weird problem. I just got a new MBP from my work

I gave it my own name in the sharing preferences.
When I am connected to the work network, it is assuming a host name from the network, i assume either a DNS or DHCP server. This other name is visible in terminal (compname:~user$) and in the sharing preferences for web sharing.
The Computer Name window at the top of sharing still shows the name I gave it, as does the edit button window, but down where it says the location of the localhost website, it has this other computer name.
Any ideas?
