MBP goes wild after a little water on trackpad and one of the keys

i used a wet finger to use the trackpad and adjust the volume. After that the MBP started behaving erratically with the mouse moving all over the place and randomly clicking.

I used it with a wet finger about an hour ago, but the problem is still happening.

Is this expected?

keep water away from these things, they just spent 1100 on repairs for a new logic board and wireless card.

A little bit of water can get inside there and cause that behavior. Wait a few hours for it to dry out.

Is this expected?

Yes, as water can short out electronic components. If water seeped in between the case and trackpad anything can happen.

Thanks for the responses. I shut it down for the night, and now it's back to working normally.

Capacitive touch surfaces in general do not behave well with wetness.
