hi guys,

So here is my problem,

I rebooted my mac book pro at work today, then when it restarted it was a grey screen,

I can see the apple start up logo and it loads the os fine. but the screen is stilll grey, when i plug in my ext monitor it then shows the desktop etc,so i can log in and see all.

i have tired rebooting, turning of, taking battery out, plugging the ext monitor in out and so on haha.

So Im totally stuck :(

any ideas?

thanks

Deelow

curious... do you use dual displays at all? Is there any chance your system is detecting another display and making it the main screen?

After booting, do you see the mouse cursor at all? if not, if you move it all the way to the left or all the way to the right, does it appear? Does it go off the screen instead of getting stuck at the edge like normal?

thanks for the replys :)

I did have it wiht a dual monitor at home , but this happened when i was at work with just the laptop.

I tried safe mod etc and none of them worked, but after doing some more reading cmd + opt + p + r

done trick on boot up.

very strange tho, not sure what had made it do this :(

but im happy to say its all back to normal now :D
