MBP hard drive on MacBook, bootable?

This might be a dumb question but does anyone know if I'd be able to boot up a MacBook (Late 2007) with a hard drive that was formatted and had OS installed through a 13" MBP?

Would OS X adjust the necessary drivers or would it simply not boot?

It will boot and a Software Update should take care of the missing drivers.

If you use MRoogle, you will find plenty of threads asking the same question(s). Btw, the other way around might not be possible, as every Mac has to have at least the version of Mac OS X on it, which it came with. So no Mac OS X 10.6.2 on a Mac that came with Mac OS X 10.6.3.
