so im sitting here reading the forums, like usual, and all of a sudden BAM my left fan's bearing starts going out.

Its making a strange sound so i guess i get to go visit the genius bar and let them try to listen to it, and not be able to hear it an tell my its fine, then yeah this is going to be a blast...any advice?

yeah 1 year warranty.

did you put that WD Scorpio in yourself or did you have Apple do it?

uh...i did it:D

the sound went away now, i use fan control to run the fans really high and it sounds normal again

ah thats good.

well if you end up taking it in you might want to swap the old hard drive back in so they can't tell you opened it up.

btw, i just ordered that drive for my MBP. is the install easy?

as long as you're not afraid to really pry up on the front of the keyboard tray, then use great force to snap it back into place, other than that and keeping track of the 15 little tiny tiny screws yeah its easy

make sure you have a t-6 torx and a 00 phillips screwdriver
