MBP has a good keyboard~

I bumped into a couple of threads in other forums that ask people to HOLD down BOTH shift keys and type

"THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPS OVER A LAZY DOG"


My apple bt wireless does:
"H CK BN FX JMPS V A LAZ DG"

Missed the top row it seems.

While my MBP does:
"THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPS OVER A LAZY DOG"
Perfect!!!

Most keyboards can't do it perfectly. The only one I know that does are the logitech g15, razer tarantula, and das professional.


So, I'm happy that the MBP does it well. Not sure why it matters. I mean, when do you actually hold down 2 shift keys?

Should be The not A as the first word or else you don't cover all the letters.

My Targus work keyboard gives me:

I don't think being able to type every letter while holding down both shift buttons means that it is a good keyboard. It seems to me that different keyboards allow for different combinations of keys to be held down simultaenously. While you can type all letters with both shift keys being held down, some key combinations may not work on your keyboard.

This probably only affects gamers, as certain games require you to press certain key combinations. For example in a FPS game, you would press W + Spacebar to jump forward. Whereas in another game, you may need to push A + S + D to perform a special action or something.

One keyboard may allow for the first combination, but not the second. The other keyboard may allow for the second combination, but not the first.

I get everything except the letters in the top row. The {}| all work fine.

You need to add S to JUMP.

That was on MBP Santa Rosa 2.2. My MBP keyboard sucks, fortunately I only use one shift key I do have an obnoxiously squeaky spacebar key though.

I havn't heard of any other laptop's keyboard that does it perfectly like the MBP does.
