MBP headphone jack.

I'm new to the MBP 2011 and I keep headphones plugged in. I accidentally dropped the edge of a heavy book right on the headphone plug that goes into the headphone port. Did I possibly do damage to the internals of the headphone port? It feels loose.

Yep, it is possible that you damaged it.

Maybe did damage it but as long as it keeps working and doesn't bother you too much its fine.

3.5mm plugs & jacks are easily damaged but if it's not obvious to you (sound issues, etc) then there's no need to worry over it.
