So i just got my mbp yesterday...and I'm completely new to Mac, but there's a constant problem I keep reading about in this post: the heat generated by mbp. I had the exact same problem yesterday, it became too hot for me to put on my lap, and I couldn't even touch the speakers because I can feel the heat there too! Today, i took an old text book (organic chem) and placed it under my mbp to slant it at an angle. Well, after 7 hours of non-stop use, i can barely feel the heat, and according to istat, it's at 35C. The bottom line is placing the laptop at an angle to allow air flow. I tried using a cooling fan, and those did nothing except for making that annoying noise. If using a book seems too uncool, then Targus actually has a "Podium Coolpad" that works the exact same way. I actually have one, it just happens to be at my dorm for now; but alas, my o-chem book has come into good use!

Sorry if this is redundant, but I was hoping it could help someone :)

Thanks, my computer just doesn't get that hot... If it did I'd keep it away from "there"
