Hi all,

I was wondering if any of you have been experiencing this issue. Before updating to Mavericks I had no issues with AirPlay (other than sometimes lagging), but now every time I AirPlay to the Apple TV, my 2011 MBP starts blasting the fan. It seems to be even louder when I extend the desktop than when I mirror but I am not 100% sure. Any clues? Thanks in advance.

Glad to see I'm not the only one. I've been browsing through Google and can't find anything on the topic. I've just begun using Airplay on my new MBP w/ Retina and it does the same thing. I'm going to assume it is no cause for concern until I hear differently, but that fan sure gets loud.

In my case, it is when playing something on youtube through airplay mirroring. My 2011 MBP heats up and the fans kick in. The interface also becomes a bit jittery, the whole experience is subpar, to say the least!
I wonder if it is hardware limitations or bugs with mavericks?
