Hi all. noob here.

I m considering buying a MBP I5 15" 2.4 standard for video editing beside other current tasks. I know HD screen is a perhaps better choice but couldn't stand this resolution.
Anyway, I wanted to know if I should upgrade to the 7200 HDD or stand with the 5400 and update it later with a SSD when it would be more affordable ?
The seller in appleshop said that I SHOULD STICK to the standard which surprise me)
(In Europe the update to it is 135 euros even money isn't really an issue here)
Is there a very hughe difference in speed running final cut ? I don't want heat or vibration....

thanks in advance for helping
Any advice welcome

stay with 5400

if you stick with the 5400, you can shell out a few euros for an external FW800 drive that you would want to use as a scratch disk. that will make things fast.

and if you have money to burn, get the FW800 external and buy a SSD for the laptop. then you have it made.
