I am not a troll.
I just want someone to help me clarify because I am not "rich" but can afford to pay cash for a notebook computer, and want to get the best i can.
Today in a best buy store I saw this sony and an alienware (which is massive and just a beast, too big to travel with which is something i need to eventually do through airports etc)
my question is about the CPU and the RAM... the macbooks have a clockspeed of 2.4 or is it 2.5? but the processors only have 2 cores which evidently OSX treats as four.
Does this mean that the OS constantly runs 2 cores at a higher clockspeed, and then doubles that with a trick?
four is better than two, but does windows 7 really use four cores? seems that it likely does not and that it will only kick in with certain applications (like photoshop which i will use and maybe certain video editing which i would have to buy on the windows machine but will get on the mac)
hmm... i am very confused over that. i can pay $50 or so and double the mac ram, not a problem....
one last question, can i just take my current time machine disk and attach it to the new mac, essentially making a carbon copy of that old core 2 duo imac on the new macbook?
thanks for hearing me out.
