I've got a newer MPB with the Apple Mini DisplayPort, and I want to plug it into my old, tired SD TV with rca cables. With my old MBP (which had a DVI-I out) I just used the Apple DVI to Video adapter, and it worked perfectly. This doesn't seem to work with the mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter (it's DVI-D only).

Anyone found a workaround for this? Like a DVI-D to RCA cable (if those even exist)? Or should I get a Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter and a VGA to RCA Video adapter (which is, sadly, a LOT of money to spend on this)?

Or do I give up and just get on the HD-TV bandwagon already?

Also, why does Apple do stuff like this all the time? Grrrr.

The DVI-D is the prob here. that D stands for digital, which rca cables are not. going thru VGA seems to be the solution here
