Hey everyone! I need some help with my iSight camera on my 2008 MBP running latest and greatest OS X with all Apple software updated (figured I'd get that out of the way now, haha)
I am attempting to use my MBP as a security camera for my room to catch my roommate stealing my change. I am using iCamSource on the machine and the iCam app on my iPhone 4S. Whenever I activate the camera on my computer, the image will periodically "jump" and distort. This weird effect will also be displayed on my iPhone.
Thinking it was the iCamSource app, I uninstalled it (and wiped it's .plist file) and opened photobooth; same problem. I continued testing it with Skype, Facetime, iMovie, and Google Talk. All of the programs display the jumping and distortion. If it were anyone else, I would think they dropped the machine and this was hardware damage, but I know it has never been dropped and is in wonderful shape. I am hard-pressed to believe that this is user damage.
That being said, have you ever heard of this before? Does this sound like some obscure software issue that I overlooked? Thanks in advance for your help and I look forward to hearing from you!
