I just bought a new replacement keyboard for my laptop. Everything was going fine until I wanted to disconnect my keyboard. On the part where the ribbon cable connects to the board, you must flip up a flap to slide out the ribbon. One of the flaps broke completely off (really tiny black piece). I'm curious if anyone has had any experiance with this? Is it needed for the keyboard to function properly? It didn't seem like it was needed, but I'm not 100% sure. Would it be possible to use the orange tape that apple uses on the logic board to hold it securely in place?

I can't find a replacement part for just that, though, it comes with the upper case, but that itself is $250 and all I need is that plastic flap.

I stopped trying after that had chipped off. Got a little discouraged and I'm scared something else might go wrong.
