So I've noticed something.. first couple weeks I had my MBP, when I'd open my lid, I was instantly able to log in and navigate.

overtime, now it seems when I open the lid, put in my PW nothing happens for a good 10 seconds.. then after I put in my PW, I can't click anything, dockbar doesn't lift up(hidden), right/left click aren't working, yet I can move the mouse. The only way to fix this is to close lid and reopen and then magically it works.

Any ideas of what could be causing this?

mid-2012 MBP, Crucial M4 256GB SSD and Crucial 16GB ram

This is very often a sign the SSD is failing. I'd back it up to be sure.

Hmm.. the SSD is like a month old.

I do make daily backups of my stuff.. that sucks if it fails.

Would running the Time Machine backup hourly cause the SSD to wear out sooner?

Ooo.. nice.. that's exactly what I was experiencing.

I've set it to 24 hours just as that blogger did.. here's to hoping!

*cheers*
