Just wondering which is faster and better for graphics..I know the MBP is a "pro level machine", but the ATI card in the higher end iMac is a better card than the nVidia 8600m GT....and the bigger screen is a plus....only thing is portability..What do you think is the better system for all around use and durability?

well the imac is going to be the better computer..And it will be more durable, considering you wouldn't be moving around with it. So if you want a laptop, get a laptop. If you want a desktop, get that.

iMac is not "portable", if you really need something to move around with, just get the MBP. The graphics card there is plenty for graphics work. But if you are gaming... that's another story.
