So, I have to do some homework. I lost my Homework book. Luckily, the teacher burned it to a CD. First time, I inserted the CD, it made some odd noises, then ejected it. I pushed it in again, and it made a really loud spinning noise. I ejected it. (it was REALLY loud.)

Is this normal?

It's working now, I should probably copy the book files to the desktop, eh? I don't want to be listening to this all night.

It depends what you mean by really loud. I bet you can find videos on youtube on how it should sound. In the meantime you could try inserting another disk (DVD, CD, etc) and see if it does the same thing.
