Anytime I overwork the CPU for over 30 minutes, I either get a kernel panic, or an outright computer freeze with repeating three beeps. This almost always occurs when the computer is performing a CPU intensive task for an extended period of time, such as converting video files with Handbrake for iMovie. I have already replaced the RAM twice, so I know the problem is not with the RAM. This last time it happened was particularly frightening. The screen went black, then the computer made a horribly loud scratching noise, sounding similar to TV snow, for about 2 seconds, then started the 3 beep cycle. I restarted the computer with the power button, and all was fine upon reboot. My Mac is a 2011 MacBook Pro, 15 inch. The only third party modifications I have made are swapping the stock HD with a 512 GB Crucial SSD, as well as the 3rd party RAM. Some investigating online has led me to believe this could be a logic board problem since I know it's not RAM. In fact, I had my logic board replaced about 14 months ago when the Mac was just a month old when the computer wouldn't boot. I have AC, Should I take this in and have it looked at? If so, would I need to be able to reproduce the problem in order to receive assistance? Thanks for your help!
