Can't seem to find exactly what I am looking for but google makes it more confusing. I am trying to use audio over HDMI and I t only shows PCM but it does show the 5.1 setup. When I have used DVDs and BD players I have always gotten what they are encoded but it seems to fail for my Macbook M1 pro and Windows 11 build even though I using Leawo BD player or Apple Music or steam games the AVR is a Pioneer VSX -1019AHK TIA

Are you able to choose 6 Channels (i.e. 5.1 = 6 channels)
Then "Configure speakers" and choose 5.1?

Hmm, not sure what else will help TBH.

Using VLC player might work? You can choose HDMI encoded audio as sound output in that app, so perhaps that does the trick?
