After updating to Tahoe, if I’m booting up from a shutdown and I have my drive plugged in, after I enter my password, the computer tries to log in, but then reboots and asks for the password. Does it about two times then logs in. If I don’t have the drive plugged in it won’t do this at all. Anyone run into this yet?

I booted into the options menu and ran the first aids on the onboard disk volumes and then also ran diagnostics, all that came back was it saying to check my battery health cause it’s at 81%. I checked for updates and looks like they released 26.0.1 today and now it’s logging in normally at least so guess false alarm for now

Then don’t boot from the external drive.

Never was, if you reread the opening post I’m getting to the login screen but it reboots after entering the password, so it’s booting to the OS drive just not passing log in. But thanks?

Ohhh i see. Accidentally mistaken it like it was from a different post.

So you booted into Macintosh HD (built in disk on your MBP, right)?

I did run into this issue like that one time after I installed Tahoe on my MacBook Pro M4. I force restarted my MacBook Pro by pressing and holding Touch ID until the screen turned off and black, then pressed and held it back again until the startup chime and the Apple logo booted up, problem solved. Did you try that man?

The login screen froze after I typed in the password one time
