Hello from Europe,

I want to get a bit more serious about Xcode. I currently have a 2018 Mac Mini with the i3 processor, 128GB SSD and 64GB of RAM (I made the RAM upgrade last year).

I noticed that the M2 Macbooks are 22% to 30% more expensive than the M1 Macbooks where I live. A 16" M1 Max with 32GB and 1TB is about $80 cheaper than a 16" M2 Max with 16GB and 512GB. The base 14" M1 Pro is about 30% cheaper than the base 14" M2 Pro.

I am a bit scared to think what the M3 lineup will cost and that is why I am considering an M1 now while the stocks last.

If I found myself in a similar situation with similar needs, I would buy the M1 Max. The 32GB of RAM will keep it viable for years, and the prices will only keep creeping up as new chips are released, especially in Europe. That's my opinion, for what it's worth.

Whatever you decide, you'll end up with a great machine.
