Sorry for another thread here and I know this is all usage dependant, but some comments would be appreciated.

Had a iPad for 12 years now and the IPP 2017 finally is grinding to a halt and has a cracked screen. Surprised I haven’t replaced it yet with an Oled one yet, which I was waiting for and thought I would get asap The IPP the last 8 years or so has been fantastic, my wife has gone through 2.5 Airs since then.

I tried an IPad Pro M4 this time last year for a bit (Costco 90d return policy) and liked it of course for speed and screen, but didn’t blow me away because it was just a newer version from what I had.

But know from my last IPad Pro that it may last close to twice as long as the current Air. No desire for keyboard though. Just a media consumption device probably as the last one was.

Been Android though in that time for my phone, but this summer finally am using an IPhone as main device so now all I’m on ecosystem.

I also need a new laptop too, work laptops have been Windows the last 7 years but new job has no laptop, just a Windows PC at office and on your own for home computer to remote in to that desktop, so I need a new home laptop.

I tried a MBA earlier this year and liked it for speed and size and weight, but a MBP has more ports which I like and a better screen. It would be a mostly home device so although the weight would be a bit of issue when using it in bed, not lugging any laptop far from home so it’s not a dealbreaker.

Anyways, if funds were not a huge issues a MBP 14 M5 and 11 IPP M5 would do me well for years. I’m sure the IPA and MBA would do me as well but I think I’d like one of the devices to be a Pro, it’s just which one.

Budget wise, a MBA + IPP would roughly cost the same as the MBP + IPA.

Thoughts on what setup you’d prefer if it was up to you and why. I know everyone’s usage case is different.
