Hi guys,

I've had my 256GB samsung 830 SSD for about half a year in my mid-2012 13" MBP. Last morning when I turned on the laptop, it refused to boot. A folder with a question mark was blinking.

I brought the laptop to Genius Bar today and they told me that the diagnostic were not able to find the SSD. After switching back to the original 500GB HDD that comes with my laptop, everything works fine.

Is my SSD dead? I did some search and did not find any answer.

Anyone has any idea? Thanks!

Sounds like the drive is indeed dead. Makes sense since your other drive works.
