Coming home today after taking my MBP with me to a friends house (barely touched it too, just sat nicely in my backpack). I was greeted with a lid that refused to shut.

Now here’s some backstory for you, I treat my MBP perfectly. It’s been in a case all it’s life. The case has no real damage to it except for just being worn over time.

Anywho, further inspection showed the Retina display intact and not bent at all. So doesn’t seem like I sat on it. A side of the bottom casing towards a corner is buldging out HOWEVER the corner did not push this in as if ,for example, I dropped it and the metal shifted. It’s in perfect condition and the back plate is only effected damage wise. Also seems as if the entire bottom chassis is warping into a U away from the retina screen.

I have AppleCare+ on this MBP, just hoping I won’t have to pay for this as it really doesn’t seem like it was my fault. I’m praying it’s the battery at fault.

Any thoughts? I have a Apple appointment at 7:35 am tomorrow so a update will come shortly

Yes, it will be a swelling battery.
