Hi to everybody,
I have a MBP mid 2015, today is a 5-years old Mac with almost 1050 cycle of charge.

It happens that when I boot my Mac, after inserted the password and logging in, the monitor became all black. The Mac is ON because if I try to use the trackpad, I can feel the force touch working or I can change the light of the keyboard.

I need to connect it to the charger and reboot in order to let it start.
This happen if the battery charge is between the 20% and 50%, both with Catalina that with HighSierra.

Some hints or someone else with the same issue?

Thanks in advance.

After 1050 cycles, I'm thinking it might just be time for a new battery.

Are you anywhere near a brick-n-mortar Apple Store?

In the USA, a battery replacement will cost $199, which includes:
- the battery
- installation labor
- a short warranty.

A pretty good deal, actually.

Thanks a lot for your advice!
So in your opinion a new battery can solve this issue?

can a apple store run diagnostics for you.
consider a diy battery change? Verify with a youTube

The battery is rated for 1000 cycles, I think. So at 1050 cycles it probably does need replacing.
