Hello all,

I am looking to get an external monitor for my macbook pro. I recently purchased a Samsung curve monitor, but when I plugged it in it was super blurry even after several adjustments. Looking at it for more than 30mins i started to feel dizzy and just wasn't great for my eyes. Unfortunately I have decided to return the monitor.

Can anyone advise a monitor that is suitable for macbook pros and provides clarity to work, browse and the occasional watching movies? I am struggling to find the right information online. Hopefully someone here can help!
I am looking for around 24-27inch monitors :) Not too crazy expensive.

Thanksss

What MacBook Pro do you have? What Samsung display did you have? (size and resolution?) Assuming you have a retina MacBook Pro, how close do you want to get to the quality of the built-in display? The sharpest text is certainly 4K or 5K+. However, these are pricier and also place more strain on the system, and can mean more heat/fan noise. Especially if you are running Mojave or newer, text on sub-4K monitors isn't as sharp. FHD (1080p) will look very blurry even on smaller displays. QHD (1440p) seems to depend on the display. I use 25-inch QHD displays and am satisfied with how text looks, and I like how I can view at native resolution without any scaling, but it's not as good as 4K of similar or slightly larger size, and it would not constitute a retina display as you can still see individual pixels (for that matter, larger 4K displays would also not constitute retina displays.)
