Late 2012 MBP 13" with Mountain Lion.
I bought this computer new, almost right away I swapped the hhd for a Samsung SSD. It was incredibly fast running osx and booting up in seconds. Installed bootcamp with windows 7, so booting between the two was really easy and fast. Fast forward about 4 months to now, I restarted osx to boot into windows and it hung there and had to do a hard reset and after that it would consistently take 5 - 10 min to boot up. I've done everything I could possibly think of to remedy this,
-wiped the drive
-reinstalled mountain lion from internet restore
Same issue after reinstalling
I've reset the pram and smc,
-verified the disc/repaired with disk utility
Everything was fine.
Figuring it was just the SSD failing, I swapped back the original HHD which is essentially brand new, still the same thing!! I even reinstalled osx on the hhd but it still take 5 to 10 minutes to boot. It seems with both drives they function fine and as fast as ever when they are booted in and running.
Sorry this is such a long post, but I'm incredibly frustrated by this, and after searching all the forums and attempting all the remedies for similar problems, nothing has worked. So, does anyone have any ideas??
