Hi,
I know there are a million threads about this, but I haven't found any working solutions. I have a 2010 Macbook Pro 13" connected via Mini DisplayPort to DVI to a 22" Samsung Syncmaster 2233SW. And it just doesn't work. The weird part is, it worked perfectly just yesterday. Now, the Macbook Pro can't tell that the Samsung is even there, I checked under the System Profiler. I switched displays and computers to see what would work and what wouldn't.
2006 MBP 17" + DVI to DVI Cable + Syncmaster 2233SW = Works Perfectly
2010 MBP 13" + mDP to DVI Cable + Samsung HDTV = Works Perfectly
13" MBP + mDP to DVI Cable + Syncmaster 2233SW = Nothing.
It seems that the monitor is okay, the cable and port on the MBP is okay, and I know everything is compatible because it worked fine yesterday. I tried resetting the monitor, restarting the computer, and hooked up the Syncmaster when the MBP was in Windows in Boot Camp. All yielded nothing, and I have no idea what to do. Any ideas?
The one thing I haven't tried is resetting the PRAM. Is there any chance that this will work? Am I risking anything by doing this? And how do I reset the PRAM? I'll probably try that next, because I'm not sure what else to do to fix this.
Thanks in advance,
Ricky
