MBP not going to sleep when it runs out of battery

Hi guys,

Exactly what I say on the thread topic. My MBP won't go to sleep when it runs out of battery. I just get the usual warning, see the battery icon on menu bar hit 0, it remains on a few more minutes and then just dies, doesn't go to sleep.


Any ideas on what the problem might be?

I just got this today. When I came back home it was shut down. I left it there without the charger to calibrate it. When I left, it had 27% battery. I came back 2 hours later. I got a late 08 MBP.

I have the same issue. I'm on my 3rd MBP and this as well as the 2nd one exhibited this behavior. I assumed it was normal, but not exactly sure.
