I have 2.4G 15" MBP with GT330M.
With 1024x768 and low settings and viewing distance of 3 (in order to prevent 256MB VRAM overflow)
I was only able to get 20fps on average, 14-16 sometimes.
Will 0.5G VRAM do just fine?

Newer Games that are not designed to be low end friendly have very little chance of running well on a Mac. Apple just doesnt care enough about GPUs or to at least offer a better GPU option

GTA IV runs at about 35-40 fps for me on all medium, view distance of 20.

i7 with 512 vram.

Make sure you have the laptop propped up a bit so the vents are clear. I know that was dragging down my framerates because the vidcard was too hot.

Lower than 30 fps seems a bit slow on low settings with that view distance.

The 330m gt is a decent card - not the best - but certainly doesn't warrant the generic "Apple doesn't care about graphics" refrain.
