MBP not seeing Samsung external burner. Need driver?

I recently had to get an external burner for my MBP. I didn't have a lot of options here in Chiang Rai, Thailand. It's a USB connection and it came with no Apple software. I can play some discs but it's touch and go. The drive is not being recognized by computer.

Any suggestions, besides the obvious.
