hey guys

just a question about the mbp's optical in/out.

I've tried finding pics of the mbp that show where they are but can't find any. Are they the two ports next to the power and usb ports with the headphones logo and the other logo (2 arrows facing into a circle)??

I was looking to connect my audio interface via optical SPDIF and was wondering which connection i need, RCA or Toslink? a little bit confusing since both ports on the left side of the mbp take mini headphone jacks.

thanks

toslink will go into the headphone port.

edit: excuse me... with a toslink to mini toslink adapter

You need to purchase a Toslink (Optical) to Mini-Toslink (Mini-Optical) adapter. The adapter gives you an optical plug which fits into the headphones jack of your laptop.

As the others have said, you need the mini-adaptor. I just bought one for my mac mini for my HT setup, this is what it looks like incase you're curious.
