Hi

My G4 is on it's last legs and I'm thinking of replacing it. I'm a graphic designer and use mostly CS3.

In my local apple store a 15" 2.4GHz MBP + extra 2gb RAM is £1480/$2900 and with 3 year apple care it's £1760/$3450.

It's about the same price for an imac and the regular macbook, without the extras. Not sure if the mid range imac and macbook would be okay for lots of CS3 work?

Could anyone suggest which to go for? Or alternative ideas?

Thanks Jimmy

My preference would be the MBP, for great performance, portability and the ability to add a 30" Apple Cinema Display later on. You can save some money by getting the MBP with 2GB RAM and buy the upgrade to 4MB from someone other than Apple.... should cost about $100 for 4MB vs $400 from Apple.
