MBP overheating

Hey guys! My fiancee's early 13" 2011 MBP has been running hot (87ºC) and slowly. It looks like the only thing she has running is Mozilla Firefox. Has anyone experienced this?

Open Activity Monitor and select All Processes and then sort by CPU to show you the process(es) slowing down your Mac or speeding up your fan(s) or causing more heat.

And if your Mac is overheating, it would shut itself down.

87 isn't hot and is well within the limits of the computer.

I agree with other posters. my MBP regularly hits 87C and it is well below the thermal limits of the components of the computer.

What exactly do you mean by slow?

Its probably a page in mozilla- my laptop hit 90C when it got stuck on a youtube page yesterday. Everything looked fine, but on the page nothing was loading. Exited and laptop immediately started cooldown.

Flash creates a ton of heat.
Recently with YouTube as well.

Can't wait until all sites stop using flash.

Vimeo & Youtube are already moving to native mp4/ogg support. This generates less CPU usage, hence less heat.

50% of the time I get native mp4 pages on YouTube. I think when theyre done converting all videos, they're bound to move to mp4...I assume around 2013.
