MBP Performance queries

Hey there,

I've got a 2018 MBP with Vega 20 and 32 GB of Ram. I'm running Premiere and find it a bit sluggish, so was wondering what you think could be affecting performance.

1. I have a 4k LG HDR monitor connected. Does driving this make the laptop slower?

2. I usually charge it through the monitor (which i know is just 65w). Would plugging in the actual charger help?

3. I keep the laptop closed, inside a hard case. Could a case impede airflow, causing greater heat and lower performance?
