Two quick questions for everyone!

1) I didn't see a flash memory slot on the mbp 17", does it have one or only 13.15"?

2) I shoot photos RAW, then process in PS CS5 and ACR. I usually save to JPEG... Will I still be able to do so? And upload to Flickr and usual?


Sry, coming from windows I'm taking my time and learning step by step! At last I'm finally jumping ship to apple tho!

1) No, it doesn't have one.
2) You'll need to buy a Mac version of Photoshop or use Windows, but yes you can still shoot in RAW and export to jpeg.

1. The 17" MBP has no SD card slot, it has an ExpressCard slot, which allows you to use several additional card readers or interfaces with it.

2. Yes. And yes, as those formats (RAW, JPG) and procedures (uploading to Flickr or similar) are OS-independent.

The 17" Pro has an express card slot. It's empty when the machine is delivered unless you buy one from Apple. I have one of these 21 in 1 readers in there...Fast, and accurate:

Thanks for clarifying the picture format question. The associate @ apple was a little unclear lol.


So as far as the express card slot... Im still confused, it's an empty port? Or I have to buy eternal & plug one in?

It is an empty slot, which can be filled with ExpressCards giving you a variety of options. Look at the links in this thread, they should give you a good picture, or haven't they?

Ok I understand now. It will plug inside the body of the MBP & be flush, and then I can insert my flash cards etc?
