MBP possible screen issue???

i just bought the 15" mbp (the 2.66 ghz model) on saturday. idk if i should be worried about this but when i was calibrating the battery and running it out to empty. After the computer dies by itself (because of no battery, w/o proper shut down method) and i turn it back on, the screen will show a bunch of alternating horizontal snowy lines before it boots up. sorry if that is unclear, but that is the best way i can describe it... anyways, i was just wondering if this is normal and that's standard or if i need to get mine taken care cuz it might be deffective. thanks in advance for all the info!
