Wouldn't be easier to buy a full skin like dbrand or anything else cheaper?

No he will make me PPF,

Plus on the site it does not say the dimensions of palmrest sides nor the dimensions of trackpad

PPF?

I agree with the other poster, I think dbrand is the way to go. I'm pretty sure the tolerances that those people use, will be superior to a friend cutting a length of vinyl for you. No knock on your friend.

No he has a shop , i bought skins from multiple times. And they are perfect. PPF is paint protection film which is used to protect the paint on cars usually.

He has done it in his macbook 2013 model and its very good.

He said he will go to apple store to measure it next week. But im just wondering if we can find the dimensions so he doesnt need to go..

I'd be wary of having anything wedged between the keyboard/palm rest area and the laptop screen when it is closed. People have marked their LCD screens this way.

The tolerances in current macbooks are incredibly thin, there's basically no room for error. Also, putting a sheet of plastic over the top of the laptop helps retain heat inside it. It will run hotter and slower, and your battery will potentially degrade faster too.

Ppf is only 6mm i just asked him and they are not insulation

So i should be good

Only 6mm what?

Also, 'not insulation' or no, you're still putting a barrier between the laptop and circulating air outside, which will raise temps. It's physics. Read up on convection and how it works, if you like. :) Also, the fans might suck some amount of air through the keyboard, and putting a sheet over it would block that airflow, which might also affect temps.

Im not goong to put the ppf on the keyboard ofcourse..just top, bottom, palm rest and trackpad maybe

6mm thick i agree to your point but for only the bottom part..plus i have skins in my iphones 2-3years now and i didnt notice any differences..same alluminium as the macbook

An iphone only draws a tiny fraction of the power a macbook pulls, it makes comparatively almost no heat at all (which is why its battery lasts as long as it does; if it'd drawn a lot of power it would have been out of juice in an hour, tops... ;)

Also, how would you use the trackpad through 6mm of vinyl...? Or aren't you going to use the trackpad at all? Heh.
