I just ordered a New base level MBP which obviously comes standard with 2GB of RAM. I am thinking of upgrading and buying 2x2GB RAM from Newegg.com giving me 4GB RAM. Is the performance improved by upgrading the RAM? and if so is one brand better than another? i was thinking of getting this one... http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductReview.aspx?Item=N82E16820231135

Anybody know what RAM would be best or know if it is really even worth it?

Most of the time RAM is RAM. Some manufatureres have better reputations, but as long as the speed matched, they will usually perform the same.

In my experience, once you hit 2GB with OS X, you won't see a significant improvement with more memory, unless you have a lot of applications open, or are using something that really likes a lot of RAM like Photoshop with a BIG image.

For most users, who say surf the web, read Mail, and iChat, 2GB will be fine...
