Hello all, hopefully someone here can give me an idea of what I'm dealing with.
My Macbook Pro 3,1 seems to be on its last legs. I know that MBPs are notorious for random shut down issues but I havent found anything dealing with a case similar to mine.
When the battery is physically in the laptop, I am able to boot fine. Upon boot, the computer doesn't detect a battery (battery icon with an X in it) and seems to be only running off the wall power. About 2 minutes in (if that), the computer will randomly shut down.
The odd thing is under the exact same circumstances except having the battery removed, the computer runs fine and has no trouble.
I've tried the standard PRAM reset trick to no avail. Anyone have any ideas?
