Hi
I was waiting for an update to the mbp so I can buy a previous gen mbp(non penryn). The refurb ones online are at 1449. Should I buy that now or shud I wait for the penryn ones to come to the refurbished store. If I do wait, will they come in a 1499????

Thanks

You're looking a 6-8 week wait at least for the current MBP to reach the refurb store, and they'll probably come in at $1699 for the base model if history is any indicator. They won't go any lower until the MBP has another revision.

Yeah, the wait is an issue. Most likely the current base MBP will show up refurb at $1699...I believe that's what the old one was. It's up to you whether you think the latest MBP is worth the price difference, but I think there is a good chance that if you order a refurb last gen MBP (e.g. the $1449 one) very soon, it could actually be brand new, just being cleared out. I ordered one today as I think the price is great and personally don't care much for the different between it and the new one.

Just my $0.02.
