I watch a lot of video podcasts with friends, have several TV show subscriptions with iTunes, and also rent a lot of movies through iTunes to watch with my girlfriend. I am getting a 17" MacBook Pro and I am wondering if it sounds like I would use the apple remote. I have felt that way but am not sure of what ways I would use it. Please tell me if you think it is a wise choice to get and why, I thank you in advance for any help!

Here you can find what you can use the Apple remote for:

It has a play/pause, back, forward, menu, volume up and volume down button.

It works with iTunes and VLC Player and maybe some other applications.

With Remote Buddy or Sofa Control the Apple remote works with tons of other applications and has increased functionality.

I have one and at times it encourages total laziness :D but it often proves very useful for me. If you have an extra $20 go for it.
