I have a 2012 MacBook Pro Retina that I upgraded the drive to a ssd drive and took the old drive and put it in an OWC Half Terabyte HD enclosure. Everything worked fine. I then upgraded that Drive to a full Terabyte SSD Drive from OWC Aura Pro SSD - The Half Terabyte drive is - OWCSSDAP12K480 I was going to put it in a enclosure which I purchased from OWC and their tech say.. It wont work that drive only works in the computer and nothing else.

Anyone ever heard of that? That makes no sense Why wouldn't the drive enclosure they sell work with the replacement drive? Shame that a good drive becomes a door stop.

Thanks

FIrst, I don't recommend buying from OWC as their products are pricey and not any different from regular "PC" SSDs and USB-to-SATA enclosures.

The mid-2012 non-retina uses a regular SATA 3 drive.
