MBP Retina: Can I install bootcamp with a 3rd party USB DVD-ROM Drive?

I know you can't do this with a regular MBP without some tinkering because there's already a drive in the machine, but since the MBPR doesn't have a drive, shouldn't they open it up to all 3rd party drives?

I like my $30 USB Blu-Ray drive and I'd rather not go out and spend $80 on a lesser USB Superdrive.

I experienced an issue with a 3rd party on my MBA. The installing would fail every time. Not to say all would be the same.

I used a 3rd party blu-ray before on my old air if I recall, but it probably depends on the drive.
