Hello -

I have a 2.7GHz, 16GB MBP with Retina Display, and I'm having battery and sleep issues. The battery does not last more than a couple of hours of use, and, even when I put the laptop to sleep the battery drains very quickly. For example, the battery was at 100% at 6pm when I closed the lid. At 10:30am when I opened the lid, the battery was at 60%. My old MBP never had this issue.

In addition, I have had issues with the new MBPR coming out of sleep. It takes a very long time to wake up, and, sometimes, it doesn't wake up at all. This is more than a little disappointing.

Has anyone else had these issues?

There are many factors that impact your battery life. See the BATTERY LIFE FROM A CHARGE section of the following link for details, including tips on how to maximize your battery life.

This should answer most, if not all, of your battery/charging questions:

It sounds like your MBP didn't sleep or didn't stay asleep. For sleep issues, you may find some useful ideas here:
