I have tried every fix there is short of a reinstall which I've never done. I do have time capsule backups though. Looking for help. Anything I can do without a reinstall? This thing use to boot in 10 seconds and now it takes 45 seconds

Tried safe mode / repair
Tried the startup disk in pref fix
Tried resetting PRAM NVRAM
Tried deleting relevant preference files
Tried verbose mode, but as soon as the progress indicator comes up the verbose screen disappears and the text is too small to read anyhow
Tried the hardware test - all hardware checks out ok
Tried the permissions fix on the home folder
Nothing at all in startup in system preferences>users>startup

Any other ideas? I really don't want to do a reinstall. I have a lot of music stuff for recording on this Laptop

Honestly, you're going to get a lot of differing opinions on this, but I do a clean install once a year with each new OS version. Not migrating a backup makes it even more effective. Use the backup to drag and drop files like music and photo libraries back to their respective locations then reinstall apps. It may sound annoying but you'll thank yourself later.

Hmm, it says adware detected & system is under heavy I/O usage. Doubtful the former would contribute to boot performance, but let's check anyway.

Download/run MWB, remove anything it finds: https://www.malwarebytes.com/mac-download/

You've got plenty of free space on your disk, so that's fine. I'm not sure if APFS would be contributing to the problem...

I do the same thing. It's been worth its weight in gold, even if it is a bit of a pain in the ass to do. With iCloud Drive it isn't that bad since my files just magically redownload themselves.
