Hi
I am running a 2.0ghz MBP with OS X 10.4.x and running a isat widget and a fan speed control software. I also run Boot camp and XP
However when I run XP, the laptop gets too hot to have on my lap. in fact resently the machine crashed when i left it on a cushion while i nipped to the loo and I got a nasty Diagonal bitty strip running across the screen which now comes ups when I start my machine up. but then goes away once I have chosen XP or Mac OS X

I have been problems with the right fan it stopped working for a few months but recently came back to life, the laptop gets very hot on the left side though, towards the back.

So what I am asking is there any software that will let me control the speed of the fans while in XP? and will I be able to get the screen to stop show these bitty diagnol lines when booting up?

cheers

Dai

Sounds like a hardware issue, if a fan is broken, a speed adjuster isn't going to fix it. I suggest you have that fixed, it could cause overheating issues.
