MBP Savings

I purchased my first MBP right after the unibodies came out. I purchased the previous non-unibody generation and got the top end model for almost $1000 off. Now it comes time for my younger brother to buy a laptop for college. I told him to wait until they released a refresh of the MBP line because there would be a decent price drop. While there is a price drop in the older model, it's not as significant as it was for me (about $400). I'm looking on Amazon and have checked out MacMall, but does anyone have any advice on other places that might be running liquidation sales of "old" models? I'm also wondering if the price cut is not as much just because it wasn't as big of an upgrade. Thanks!
