MBP saying running out of disk space

Hi everyone,

I keep getting a pop-up saying force quit applications because my start-up disk is getting full. I dont understand why it is saying this as I have 12gb of free space on my hard drive. See attached screenshots. Does anyone have any ideas. Cheers
