Anyone see the second episode of Californication on Showtime? There is a fantastic scene in which the main character Hank Moody (played by David Duchovny) is typing on a Windows based PC laptop on his bed and the keyboard starts to stick…he ends up throwing the thing across the room with an expletive tossed in for good measure!
The next scene shows him at an Apple store using the new SR MBP to type the e-mail/blog. Its freakin hilarious!!
Check it out!

Anyone watching Weeds? Boy did they destroy a good thing. Anytime a Showtime show picks up critical acclaim, the suits take it over.
That's why people want their shows picked up by HBO because apparently they just let the creatives do their job. If you like Californication, be weary. Good things never last over there.

HBO has been having troubles of there own. Cancelled John from Cincinati and may do the same with Flight of the Conchords (which is an insainly funny show)
I agree though. Weeds has been terrible.

The problems with Weeds was that the story could only go so far with them trying to grow their own stash, I think the show has outgrown, :), its run, and now there is a stuggle for storyline.

And as for Californication, I think Duchovny doesn't do a great job as the main character, and for a show a bout a writer, the writing seems a bit lackluster, I think this show could be a lot better, but since its in its infancy, I will give it benefit of the doubt.

To stay on topic, it was great to see some good old Apple products in a show, I've noticed that in all the Curb your enthusiasm all the computers are Macs, back in 2002 Jeff was using the Cube, and in Entourage, everybody in Ari's office has an iMac, and Eric was using a blackbook when he got his new office.

I watched the first 3-4 episodes of John from Cincinnati and then it started to go waaay downhill.
At first I thought Flight of the Conchords was really tacky but its actually quite entertaining.

Where did you hear they might cancel Flight of the Conchords? I hope they dont, its the only show I watch on TV. Its absolutely hilarious.

Weeds has really gone downhill. Season 2 ended with the biggest cliffhanger in recent TV history, but somehow they have managed to ruin all this suspense.

:(

Flight of the Conchords was renewed for a second season.

This is fantastic news. I read a CNN article that said HBO was unsure about Conchords future. One of the funniest shows on TV...I sit and watch it with my guitar and jam out. Funniest music since Frank Zappa IMO

I had to revive this post, as both an avid fan of Californication and Macs, and their continued use of Macbooks in new episodes. As the OP stated in the second episode, Hank (David Duchovny) did indeed trash is pc laptop and ambled down to the nearest Apple Store to edit his blog entry on a MBP in the store. Very cool scene!

In that same vein, tonight's episode entitled Absinthe Makes the Heart Grow Fonder contained a scene with Duchovny in bed fondling his sexy new Black Macbook. He obviously has made the OFFICIAL switch!! Too bad he didn't opt for the sexier MBP!

Macbooks continue to make it big in Hollywood!!! A BORN STAR!!!

Was the screen yellow?

Sorry, I couldn't resist ;)

I get most of my series on Netflix since I don't have Showtime or HBO. I liked the first season of Weeds, but I wasn't blown away by it. I could see there being some story problems with the second season.

I'm working my way through the first season of Dexter right now -- great show.

HBO sure hasn't done Deadwood right. :( Although to be fair David Milch is partly to blame.

Another show that has tons of Mac usage is MI-5 aka Spooks.
